Sorry for those of you checking in, and not finding any new info. I am not sure if it is the connection here or the laptop itself but it wouldn't let me sign into blogger, or my email. It randomly let me sign in this time. Strange. Anyway, I wanted to document how yesterday went since this is a good way to journal. We got here about 7:30 am. And after checking in and getting all settled in the room the started some IV fluids at about 9:00am. No pitocin yet. My doctor came in at that time too to break my water. Monday at my appointment I was dilated to a 4.5 so that is when we decided to induce Tuesday morning. Before he broke my water he checked me and I was a 6! Crazy all that progress in one night without me even knowing it. So he broke my water and then they waited for me to get my epidural before they even started pitocin. I felt kinda silly getting an epi before I really felt anything painful. But it was a very good epidural! I could still lift my legs the whole time and wiggle my toes. We were seeing how my body would do without the pitocin for a while and I went to a 7, in two hours, so they started the pit. She didn't check me again until about 20 after one when I was pretty sure baby was ready. And sure enough I was complete. She called my doc. who luckily has his office right across the street. He actually made it fairly quick, which was nice, cause trying not to push isn't fun. Pretty uneventful after that. One push and he was here!He was doing well, just kinda grunty. Which can be very normal in babies. He was with me for a couple of hours, and I did get to hold him, which I am very thankful for. The nurse then came and said she would take him and get him bathed and that sometimes can get them crying and they will stop grunting. They moved me over to my recovery room, and we got settled there. My mom was going to bring the boys to meet their new baby brother so I called the nursery to see if he was ready. She said the nurse was going to come talk to us. hmmm, usually, not a good sign. Well, apparently, he started grunting worse and his respitory rate was too high. He was working too hard to breathe. Everything else scored great. But they sent him to the NICU to see if giving him some fluids would help. Which it didn't. So it was a waiting game. They checked for an infection, they drew some blood, but nothing was showing up. They decided to admit him as a patient there and turn him over to the neonatoligist, Dr. Simmons. Last night around 8:30 the doctor visited with us about what he had found. Aparrently, from his x-ray he saw a pneumothorax, which is a small hole in the lung. It caused him to have a pocket of air in his chest making it so his lung would not inflate all the way and it was harder for him to breathe. His lungs are developed, just got a tiny puncture. They put an oxygen hood on him to help keep his levels up and help the air reabsorb into his chest and heal the hole. He was like that all night and they did another x-ray this morning and good news is that the pneumothorax is gone and the air in his chest is gone. But, he is still working hard and grunting. So it is now a waiting game. He may have some fluid in his lungs that still needs to reabsorb. This is something that just happens sometimes. The doctor said they see between 6-12 a year. The good thing is that he is a term baby and has his size going for him also. It is extremely hard not to be able to hold him, and to see him like he is, but I am very thankful that the doctors and nurses are here to take good care of him. And I can't say that I don't cry every time I go to see him. It is a patience builder and faith builder. Physically I feel great! The emotions are playing with me a little bit, but I think that can be expected. Big brother Jack was a little upset when he couldn't meet his little brother yet, but he is having fun with Grandma and Grandpa today. I don't thing Landon knows what to think. Thanks for all the love and support we have from our family and friends. Please pray for our little Bryson that he can come out of this quickly. I know this has turned into a very long post, but it is great to write it all down.
