Random catch up

Just sharing pictures and playing catch up! Bryson turned two weeks old on Tuesday! We went for his his checkup and all is well. He weighs 6 lb 13 oz, which isn't huge but he is past his birth weight! Jackson and Landon have been doing so good. They really don't bug him at all, they are more concerned about him than anything.
All buckled in! Of course we have to have a car seat picture!
Landon got his first black eye last week. It's slowly fading now, but for a while it just looked like he had some eye shadow on.
My new ride. My vehicles keep getting bigger with every kid we have!
First bath at home. As you can tell, he wasn't a fan.
Here's the boys on the tramp, one of their many things their dad has spoiled them with in the backyard.

And just cute Bryson. He gets sweeter everyday!

I just love baby yawns!

While you were sleeping...

I just love the faces they make while sleeping. I wonder what he was dreaming? I think there was a part in there were he was tasting a lemon.

Bryson's home!

Yeah! We got home yesterday about 4:00 with our little boy. Jackson and Landon were very excited to finally meet their little brother. Landon would not stop kissing him. He has a cough right now too, so I'm gonna have to watch that boy.

I realize I have yet to get a picture with his eyes open. I am working on it.

Getting closer

Bryson is doing fantastic! I was able to nurse him on Friday and he did very well. Now I go for as many feedings as I can. He is completely off the I.V. and oxygen. He is eating so good. He did develop a little jaundice so the doctor put him under lights starting yesterday. They checked his levels today and they dropped way down so he came out of the lights this morning. They just have to check them again in the morning and as long as they stay down, we get to bring him home tomorrow! We are so excited! He will finally get to meet his big brothers! Then the excitement will really start! Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and prayers and for checking up on us. I don't know what we would have done without such great family and friends.

We're progressing!

Bryson is doing well. We got to hold him for the first time since he was born on Wednesday night. He was a good boy and cooperated so we get to hold him whenever we go see him now. He has been doing better and better, which is what we want. My sweet dad came down on Wedensday and he and Kenny gave him a wonderful blessing. I am so greatful to have the priesthood in our lives and a husband that is worthy and willing to share it with our family. It truly is such a wonderful and powerful thing.

He got to have his first feeding this morning and I got to be there for that. It wasn't much, like a tsp. but they will gradually work him up to more and more. It is strange to have a new baby and not be able to nurse him. Pumping is not my favorite thing to do! We came home today, but he will have to stay until he is more stable. They say maybe a week. It was hard to come home without a baby, but he is being very well taken care of so it comforts me a bit. We went back to the hospital for his 5:00 feeding and they had him off the oxygen and he was doing great! That is one of his main goals right now. We are headed back up there for his 11:00. which isn't coming soon enough. The next few days will be busy going back and forth but my fabulous mother has been a life saver by taking care of the boys. She is going to take them for the weekend. Although I miss them a lot and want them to stay here with me, I know that it will help me a ton to be able to focus on Bryson right now. He is already such a sweet baby and I can't wait to bring him home to share with his brothers. I hope they know I still love them even though I haven't spent a lot of time with them the last couple of days.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers it means a lot.

I finally got some pics to load!

Update

Sorry for those of you checking in, and not finding any new info. I am not sure if it is the connection here or the laptop itself but it wouldn't let me sign into blogger, or my email. It randomly let me sign in this time. Strange. Anyway, I wanted to document how yesterday went since this is a good way to journal. We got here about 7:30 am. And after checking in and getting all settled in the room the started some IV fluids at about 9:00am. No pitocin yet. My doctor came in at that time too to break my water. Monday at my appointment I was dilated to a 4.5 so that is when we decided to induce Tuesday morning. Before he broke my water he checked me and I was a 6! Crazy all that progress in one night without me even knowing it. So he broke my water and then they waited for me to get my epidural before they even started pitocin. I felt kinda silly getting an epi before I really felt anything painful. But it was a very good epidural! I could still lift my legs the whole time and wiggle my toes. We were seeing how my body would do without the pitocin for a while and I went to a 7, in two hours, so they started the pit. She didn't check me again until about 20 after one when I was pretty sure baby was ready. And sure enough I was complete. She called my doc. who luckily has his office right across the street. He actually made it fairly quick, which was nice, cause trying not to push isn't fun. Pretty uneventful after that. One push and he was here!He was doing well, just kinda grunty. Which can be very normal in babies. He was with me for a couple of hours, and I did get to hold him, which I am very thankful for. The nurse then came and said she would take him and get him bathed and that sometimes can get them crying and they will stop grunting. They moved me over to my recovery room, and we got settled there. My mom was going to bring the boys to meet their new baby brother so I called the nursery to see if he was ready. She said the nurse was going to come talk to us. hmmm, usually, not a good sign. Well, apparently, he started grunting worse and his respitory rate was too high. He was working too hard to breathe. Everything else scored great. But they sent him to the NICU to see if giving him some fluids would help. Which it didn't. So it was a waiting game. They checked for an infection, they drew some blood, but nothing was showing up. They decided to admit him as a patient there and turn him over to the neonatoligist, Dr. Simmons. Last night around 8:30 the doctor visited with us about what he had found. Aparrently, from his x-ray he saw a pneumothorax, which is a small hole in the lung. It caused him to have a pocket of air in his chest making it so his lung would not inflate all the way and it was harder for him to breathe. His lungs are developed, just got a tiny puncture. They put an oxygen hood on him to help keep his levels up and help the air reabsorb into his chest and heal the hole. He was like that all night and they did another x-ray this morning and good news is that the pneumothorax is gone and the air in his chest is gone. But, he is still working hard and grunting. So it is now a waiting game. He may have some fluid in his lungs that still needs to reabsorb. This is something that just happens sometimes. The doctor said they see between 6-12 a year. The good thing is that he is a term baby and has his size going for him also. It is extremely hard not to be able to hold him, and to see him like he is, but I am very thankful that the doctors and nurses are here to take good care of him. And I can't say that I don't cry every time I go to see him. It is a patience builder and faith builder. Physically I feel great! The emotions are playing with me a little bit, but I think that can be expected. Big brother Jack was a little upset when he couldn't meet his little brother yet, but he is having fun with Grandma and Grandpa today. I don't thing Landon knows what to think. Thanks for all the love and support we have from our family and friends. Please pray for our little Bryson that he can come out of this quickly. I know this has turned into a very long post, but it is great to write it all down.
