The Farm Life

Back in June, my mom wanted to do something fun for my dad for Father's Day, so we grabbed all the grandkids and took some pictures on the farm. After a few grumpy faces, a few meltdowns, lots of crazy dances by grandma, and plenty of bribery here's the end result.

This is my boys all time favorite! Going to help grandpa on the farm. From feeding baby calves, riding tractors and fourwheelers, or just gettin' dirty! Hence the reason for the oh so cool overalls and handy dandy gloves, which they put hanging out of there back pocket just like grandpa.

Buddies forever!
The two little ones don't make it down to help much (maybe next year) but aren't they so stinkin' cute!

I am so greatfull for a wonderful father who adores his grandkids! Thanks dad for giving my boys the opportunity of working, experiencing, and loving the farm!

Iron Man is TWO!!

Bryson started out his birthday with his birthday muffin (pics posted previously) and it was a non stop party for the next couple days! He got a birthday package in the mail on his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Stark and Aunt Keri, Uncle Travis and boys. He had some help opening it.
And he loved the contents! Thanks everybody

He is just growing up way too fast. I don't remember feeling like that with Landon, Jackson I did but I think that is because he was my first. He loves, loves, loves anything superhero! And he's two! Aren't two year olds supposed to like Elmo, Wiggles, Backyardigans, etc? He still likes that stuff, but man he loves to be batman, superman, and his favorite Iron Man. Hence the Iron man birthday party. I tried to mention other things to him but no, he was set on a Ironman cake! He also really like balls right now, and knows the difference between all the different balls. Soccer Ball, basketball, baseball, football, and bouncy ball.
We asked him what he wanted for this birthday dinner and he said "Pizza!" So we went to Pizza Factory. He was being a ham on the way to get in the car so I snapped some pictures. He loves his sunglasses and wants to wear them whenever we go anywhere.
What a stud!
We were lucky when Grandma and Grandpa Hansen decided to meet us for dinner! And they brought, Aunt Kristina, and cousins, Austin and Savanna! He got a new "bayseball gove" which he loves. We let the kids play around at Fat Cats arcade after and it was so fun!

And cutie Savanna wanted to pose for some pictures too!
Sunday was his birthday bash. It was pretty low key. So low key that these invites didn't even get done until Thursday, and then they were emailed to family. They knew about it, but I was just not in the mood for party planning, if you can believe it, so I wasn't even going to do invites. Gasp! But the fun Ironman suit that Grandma and Grandpa Stark sent convinced me. We missed you guys!

He loved his presents.
Grandpa H. playing with the new "Ion Man Piwoe"

And I found these stinkin' cute alligator converse that are so him. Savanna thought they were pretty fun too, and wore them the whole time. On the wrong feet.

The funny thing is that at Savanna's birthday party a few weeks before, she got some princess shoes for dress up, and Bryson was quite interested! He walked around in these forever and even ran down the hall in them! Although he had to have a gun in his hand as well, "I shoot Princess"
I stole this from Kristina's blog. It was pretty cute!
The Cake. I really wasn't looking forward to doing an Ironman cake since there really isn't a lot of options, but I guess it turned out pretty cute, and the boys thought the buildings were "awesome!" A few of you have asked if I took a cake class. No, I pretty much just taught myself, trial and error. And I am far from the perfect cake maker, but I love to do it!

Bryson is such a sweetheart and really keeps us going.
Happy Birthday to you Bubba! We love you so very much!

Birthday muffin!

Bry had his 2nd Birthday on Thursday! His party is tomorrow so pictures and fun stuff to come! But I'll leave you with this:

The traditional birthday muffin. He tried two different times to eat the candle. I think he thought it was a sucker. Love this kid!

Cakes and stuff

It seems like I kinda had a dry spell and didn't get to make any goodies for a while! But in March I made a cake for our Relief Society Birthday Party. The theme was Dr. Seuss' Oh the Places You'll Go, so I played with that a little and came up with this. The Elephants I made out of melting chocolate.

Then my grandma turned 80 in April and I made some cupcakes for her surprise party. The top is a little 6 inch cake. I was excited to finally have a reason to make a cupcake tower. It was fun and they were super yummy!

Change

I have this thing with change. I don't like it. I am the one that always leaves the furniture just how it is. I get comfortable and when things change I feel out of my comfort zone. When I was younger I remember some of my friends rearranging their rooms and I thought, What are they doing? How can they just move things like that? Mine always stayed the same. My clothes always hang the same and my drawers are always filled with the same thing. If it isn't broken don't fix it.

Although I didn't see it coming, change is here. Kenny and I have recently had to make a decision for our family. He was offered a job up in Logan, and after much prayer, discussion, and faith, we decided to take it. It. was. tough. It is an opportunity that we we felt we couldn't pass on. It will be different, but we believe it will be a good move for our family. I know I am going to have a hard time leaving this house, our very first house, that we brought two of our babies home to, and raised our babies that aren't really babies anymore. And our neighbors, can we say awesome? We have been so blessed to have such a fantastic neighborhood and ward, and have felt so at home. The friends we have made have been so great, and thank goodness we will only be an hour away, so we can visit. A lot. I know changes can be for the better, but it takes me a while to settle into that change. We are thrilled to be closer to family. So we have been busy getting ready for this change in our lives. Our house is for sale, but we are trying to For Sale By Owner, before we jump into getting a Realtor. So if you could help, by passing the info along to anyone looking, I would really appreciate it. I made this blog:

House for Sale

Thank you to everyone for being a part of our lives. It is so nice to have such loving, supportive family and friends. Hopefully the next chapter in our lives will be a smooth transition.

Easter and Spring Break

Easter was fun, although I am a slacker mom and we didn't even color eggs! Can you believe it? My poor children, so deprived. But I did buy them cute outfits! Does that give me some kind of bonus points? They had to wear them before Easter though, since conference fell on Easter Sunday this year. Was that weird for anyone else?
Landon kinda looks silly, but still aren't they cutest? Love this little boys!!

They got to have an Easter egg hunt at Grandma Hansen's... in the snow.

The Easter Bunny found them, and spoiled them! We had the carpets cleaned the day before and so the furniture wasn't put back yet, they had fun testing out their new rides in my house!
On Easter Sunday we packed up and tried to head to warmer weather down south. My mom and brother and his family went too. We went to Vegas for one night, and stayed in St. George the rest of the week. It wasn't quite as warm as I wanted, but there was no snow so that was a big plus.
We headed to MGM to see the Lions. The boys were pretty impressed.
Bryson was loving the fish at the Rainforest Cafe
And Jack thought this alligator/crocodile (how do you tell the difference?) was way cool. I think Landon was a little timid and thought it was real :)
We had to go see the beautiful gardens at the Bellagio. Seriously, so pretty and so neat!

We wanted them to be able to see the fountains so we waited outside for a long time, only to decide that something was wrong and they were not going to go off. So we left, me being completely bummed but not wanting to sit around any longer. After the long trek back to the car, we pulled out of the parking garage and as we were passing in front of the Bellagio, the fountains were going! grrr. Of course since we left. But we got stopped at a light and the kids got to see some out their windows. Still not the same.
This kid seriously idolizes his daddy! No one compares in his eyes, well maybe Grandpa when he takes him on the farm.

We of course had to go to Jumping Jacks in St George. Unfortunately I didn't really get too many pictures, but they had a blast, Landon was a little spider man scaling the walls! I was surprised at some of the stuff he could climb by himself.

And what vacation is complete without swimming? Little fish! Jackson thought he was so big cause he could touch so he wondered around on his tippy toes.

This one screamed when we had to leave, not a happy boy.
It was a fun little family vacation, and thanks to my mom for coming along we had an extra set of hands.

Neglected

My blog has been neglected, and I don't even have a good reason other than... life. Of course we've been busy, but who isn't? I'm just going to skip Christmas, since, come on, we're almost have way to the next one. :) But I can't leave out this cute pic of Landon, on his first day as a Sunbeam back in January. Crazy to have two kiddos in Primary with me now. He loves it though and does much better than Jackson did. Landon is usually a pretty easy going kid. He's my buddy.

I was able to snag this of all three of them, doesn't happen often. Notice Landon's "Cape".

There is a lot of cape wearing at this house.

This little cutie keeps us going. He's going to be two next month and it hasn't quite sunk in yet. He's quite the little jabber box. He already thinks he's like 4, and wants to play with the big boys.

Last August he had surgery to probe his clogged tear ducts. Unfortunately it only fixed his left eye, so in February they had to go in again and put a stint (a small tube) in his right duct. Here's a before, taken in January. See the goop.

And this is the day of his surgery. The tube was stitched to the inside of his nose where the duct drains, that's why it's bleeding. He was not a happy guy.
But Hallelujah! No more goop, it worked! It is so nice not to have to worry about a crusty, red eye.
