Oh Baby!

So since we are getting closer to this little one's arrival I am trying to get everything ready. The rooms are what we worked on last weekend. We moved Jackson and Landon in together and got them bunk beds. Saturday was their first night in their new room. They kept giggling and talking and wouldn't go to sleep. So every time I opened the door Landon would drop down and lay down, but really I think he was the little instigator! Jackson fell asleep and Lando was the one up chatting and playing. He finally crashed around 10:30! Hopefully with time he will get used to it. Cause I don't have another option! We plan to do the babies room this weekend, hopefully.
But, my reasoning for this post is for your opinions! I was thinking about getting some things for this baby that I didn't have with the other two, so share your insight please on if you think they are worthy of my husbands hard earned money.

The first is the Bumbo. Yay? Nay?

Next, is one of those Swaddling blankets. I always just wrapped them in a normal blanket but have always wondered if I would like one of these better. So if you have recommendations, please share which one you used.

This one I am for sure getting, I just don't know from where yet. A nursing cover. I am taking suggestions!

The other thing I need is some new bottles. I used Avent with the other two, and I still have them, but I think their life span is used up, and I would like to use something that is BPA free. I was thinking about those drop in ones? Anybody use those that they like?

And of course if you have any other fabulous baby item that you want to recommend, send it my way!

Yes for the Bumbo. My sister-in-law has 6 mth twins and she loves hers. She uses it all the time.

I've got a bumbo and the swaddler and loved them both. I got the bumbo when Ellie was 3 months old. It took a little bit for her to get used to but once she did she loved sitting in it. I would recommend getting the tray with it. You probably already have the boppy but that was another thing I loved having while nursing.
I can't wait to see what this little one looks like!!!
Miss ya

It was fun seeing you today at the park...

Roman LOVES the kiddopotomus swaddling blankies. They didn't even exist with my other 2 kids. We seriously have like 7 of them I think? Sometimes when he is fussy, all it takes is a tight swaddle that he can't get out of and he is good. Of course they probably don't work great for all babies.
We loved them from the hospital and you can still change their diapers and keep their arms to their sides. Let me know if you need any help with your kids these last few weeks!

Bumbo-nay, in my opinion it is not worth it, Paityn did not enjoy sitting in it at all.
swaddle blanket- nay, again, in my opinion they are not worth the money when a recieving blanket works well at a young age
Nursing cover- By far my FAVORITE baby essential. You can find really good deals on KSL. just make sure they are a sturdy material, there are many flimsy ones and those don't seem to work well.
Bottles-did you know you can take your avent bottles to BABYSRUS and get store credit, since they are trying to keep up with the BPA free thing! My friend did it at our local store and they had no problem, 2 years old, no reciepts.
As for bottles-I LOVE the drop in kind. So much easier, and less clean up! Though, Paityn wont do the bottle thing.
Good luck....and I do have more suggestions, but if those are the only things you are looking into buying then I will keep quiet!
I will just quickly say, you should look into getting a baby sling if you don't have one and start using it at day one!

Good post! It's hard to know what to spend money on. My sisinlaw loves the cover. I plan on getting one. Also, an infant carrier - do you have one you like? I want to see pics of the rooms when you get a chance. I bet they look awesome!

Jordan just got a job in West Valey and we are moving back the end of June! So excited! We still don't know where we're moving since we don't really want to live in West valley. Probably somewhere between Lehi and SLC! I got the bumbo for Kaden and I really like it, but my sister is totally against them because her little girl tipped over in hers and bonked her head (and no, she didn't have it on the table!) :) I never got a nursing cover and I guess it doesn't matter now because I only bottle feed, but I thought these hooter hiders were totally cute!http://www.bebeaulait.com/index.php I would have loved one when I was nursing! Also, I use Avent and NUK bottles. I really love the NUK bottles but they aren't BPA free. I didn't even think about that when I bought them and now I'm thinking I should have! Check out this website for a free Platex drop-in http://www.playtexbaby.com/bpafree/info.html and also here is a blog full of BPA products. I think I'm going to get some Adiri bottles! http://bpafreekid.com/

We love the bumbo! Ever since we got it she can hold up her head and everything. My cousin had one for her little boy and she said it really helped strengthen his core. And I can tell it has with Rylee. She loves it. I heard the trays are being discontinued...so be sure and get one soon!

I'm afraid that I'm not help. Someday I should really think about catching up with everyone!

I tried the bumbo a few times and it worked most of the time. It just depended on Evey's mood. I've also been investigating different kinds of bottles. I heard that glass and drop-ins are the best, but there is no way I am dealing with glass. So I think I will try the drop-ins. At least we have a lot options, our mom's never did.

Hey girl!
So here is my sphill on those things...
Bumbo: I have one and love it for traveling, Trey didn't really like it at first but he eventually got used to it and it's good now, but I only really use it when we go places.
Swaddling blanket: This was my best friend! We swaddled Trey in one of these from the day he was born up until 6 months! He loved it and as soon as we put him in it he would settle right down and go to sleep! It's like he KNEW it was time to sleep when we put it in it, it was awesome!
Nursing cover: I bought one of these a couple of months ago, it definitely is nice because you don't have to worry about the blanket falling because of the strap, but at the same time, my child hates being covered period so it really hasn't been as useful for me because it just plays with it! :)
Bottles: I tried about 3 different bottles and the one Trey loved was the Nuk pacifiers and bottles, he wouldn't use anything else. I think he just liked the nipple, but anyway. I did try the drop-in one as well, those seem to work fine, he just didn't like it. But i think every baby is different.
Well that's that, hope it helps! Post some pictures of the baby room and the boy's room so I can see it! We'll miss you guys!

Hmmm, I had never even heard of a bumbo until I peeked in on your blog tonight. I guess I'm a bit out of it too! My two cents: I loved my drop in bottles and so did my girls. Good Luck!

I'm going to get a bumbo I think, I've never had one. I also used a coupon from the hospital bad to get a swaddling blanket from the baby center and I love it, but it is just a large receiving blanket really. I love the hooter hiders. I bought one from a girl in Vegas that made them and then I made my own for half the cost, all you need is the boneing that you can buy at Joanne's to sew in the top. I got a nice baby sling when taycie was born but I only used it a few times and now she doesn't like it so you would have to get him used to it and use it alot as a newborn.
